DeWitt, Michigan is located just north of Lansing in Clinton County. This city is home to approximately 4,700 residents and covers just under three square miles of land. Since the city is located north of Interstate 69 and west of US Highway 27, there are a number of routes to get to and from the area. Though small, DeWitt is filled with plenty of fun things to do and friendly people to meet. Coldwell Banker Hubbell BriarWood has enjoyed representing this thriving community since opening our DeWitt office in 2001.
The City of DeWitt is recognized as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation because of its commitment to community forests. Among these forests, DeWitt has five recreational parks for people of all ages to relax and enjoy nature in. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Pathway Plan was also created in 1998 in DeWitt and is dedicated to putting funds meant for non-motorized transportation to good use through continuous bike path construction.
For those with children, the City of DeWitt has a great education system through DeWitt Public Schools. They provide schooling for grades K-12 in six different buildings to almost 3,000 students. The district’s vision explains that, “By joining together with our community and families, we will provide an environment of excellence that results in the achievement of all students.”
With such a family-friendly atmosphere, this quaint bedroom community provides residents and visitors with a number of local shops, restaurants, and boutiques in the downtown area. You can always count on being welcomed with open arms and making new friends easily in DeWitt!
