Greater Lansing Area Holiday Things to Do

Michigan Steam Train North Pole Express- Owosso, MI. This four-hour excursion through the Village of Ashley in Owosso, MI is a great way to enjoy celebrating a day of Christmas spirit with family. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until December 18th, you can hop on the train and write Santa a letter, see his workshop, and create many arts and crafts. 45th Annual Christmas Parade- Grand Ledge, MI. On December 2nd at 7 PM, kick off the holiday season with Grand Ledge’s 45th Annual Christmas Parade. The lighted floats will start at the fire barn and end at the Sun Theater with Santa. After the parade, there is also a free movie, “Shrek the Halls,” available for all. Stories with Santa and Mrs. Claus- Lansing, MI. On December 3rd and 17th from 10 AM- 12 PM, join Santa and Mrs. Claus at Schuler Books & Music in Eastwood Towne Center to have some free milk and cookies and listen to some stories from Santa. Click here for more information.


Downtown DeWitt Christmas Market- DeWitt, MI. Join your friends in DeWitt on December 3rd from 2-7 PM for a “Hometown Christmas event with a Homemade Market, S’mores Pit, Santa Pictures, Horse-drawn Carriage Rides, Santa Run, Light Parade, and Tree Lighting!” You can find out anything else you need to know on their page here.


19th Annual Holiday Light Parade- Williamston, MI. On December 3rd at 6 PM, be sure to check out Williamston’s annual parade with floats, animals, marching bands, and more! Santa and Mrs. Claus will help with the City Hall tree lighting after the parade, and children are welcome to come have snacks and visit with Santa right after in Keller’s Plaza. Toys for Tots at Wonderland of Lights- Lansing, MI. Bring an unwrapped toy for donation to Potter Park Zoo from 5-8 PM on December 3rd, and you will get admitted to Wonderland of Lights for free!
